MARGINALISED CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE

Support to children and young people in grief

The Vissing Foundation funds Børn, Unge & Sorg that offers free, specialised, psychological help to survivors and relations who lost a parent or sibling or who live as a relation to someone with a serious illness.

”We are happy that the Vissing Foundation once again chose to support our work. COVID-19 caused an increased demand for grief therapy, and Børn, Unge & Sorg’s psychologists see a significant increase in the lack of well-being among the target group,” says Preben Engelbrekt, Manager, Børn, Unge & Sorg.

He says that more than 300 relations/surviving children and young people are on a waiting list for therapy. That means that way too many children and young people do not get the help they need soon enough and risk developing complicated reactions of grief.
