MARGINALISED CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE

Support for children and young people from Ukraine

With a grant of DKK 500,000 to Save the Children the Vissing Foundation is supporting work for and with children and young people from Ukraine.

“The support of donors like the Vissing Foundation makes a big difference to how we can help children and young people from Ukraine, who are going through an extremely difficult period because of the war,” says Merete Gotsæd Falkenstrøm, Director of Fundraising & Marketing for Save the Children.

Save the Children works to help children in Ukraine, children who have fled to neighbouring countries (such as Poland and Romania), and children who have fled to Denmark.

The support helps to protect children in child-friendly areas, to provide financial help to buy food and support for education, and professional help to process the traumas of war. In Denmark, Save the Children helps professional workers, parents and children to give a welcome to children on the run from war and disasters.

“Our volunteers all over Denmark give gift vouchers to families who have fled to Denmark. With the gift vouchers they can get clothes, baby equipment and toys in our charity shops,” says Merete Gotsæd Falkenstrøm.
