MARGINALISED CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE

Holiday camp for disadvantaged children and young people

Blue Cross holiday camps are intended to give vulnerable children unforgettable Christmas and summer holidays.

“The holiday camps are a breathing space in difficult daily lives, and help to give hope and enthusiasm for life. Without the support of foundations such as the Vissing Foundation and the many volunteers, it would not be possible to organise a holiday camp each year for children and young people from disadvantaged homes,” says Sandra Trampedach Junget, Project Manager at Blue Cross Holiday Camps.

She continues: “The camps are an important breathing space for children and young people. In the short term, they mean having fun, making friends and holiday memories. In the long term, going to the camps can help children to believe in their own abilities, and prevent them becoming abusers later in life.”
