The Vissing Foundation continuously supports a variety of research projects. So far, grants have mainly been provided within the areas of diabetes and cancer. In the future, the Vissing Foundation will also focus on supporting energy research and projects related to marginalised children and young people.
Below are two examples of projects which were supported by the Vissing Foundation in 2018:
A project run by the Department of Clinical Immunology at Aalborg University Hospital and a project managed by The Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at the University of Copenhagen.
Better and faster identification of tumour markers
Better treatment and care for patients suffering from diabetes
Skin cancer – comparison of advanced scanners for diagnosis and selection of optimal treatment
Colorectal cancer – improve the selection of people who should be offered endoscopy
Prevent or minimise nerve damages following chemotherapy for breast cancer
Patients with kidney disease – treatment through well-functioning fistula
Glaucoma – dry eyes as adverse effect to eye drops
Energy research – development of local energy co-operations as part of the transition of the Danish energy system
Children with type 1 diabetes – a course in mastering the disease in everyday life
