Power without pollution for events

Wattboks is a battery-based power supply designed for outdoor cultural and sports events. It can replace small and medium-sized generators that run on petrol or diesel.

“At outdoor gatherings such as festivals or sporting events there is often a need for a mobile power supply, as it can be both inconvenient and expensive to connect to the regular supply. There may be some distance to a grid connection, and it may be necessary to distribute power over a large area. At the same time, organising an event professionally makes demands on the robustness, reliability and capacity of the power supply. At present there are no battery-based systems designed to fulfil these needs cost-effectively. That is why surprisingly many diesel generators are still in use,” explains Søren Heinecke from Wattboks.

Wattboks solves the problem by combining several innovative elements in a smart, data-driven solution. It supports planning, monitoring, control and efficient deployment of battery systems of all sizes.

“With the support of the Vissing Foundation, Wattboks can take the next major step in developing the technology in the coming year. We will go from showing the specific, practical potential of the product and demonstrating the core technology to demonstration and validation of the full solution,” says Søren Heinecke.
