MARGINALISED CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE

New play area for vulnerable children

Raise for Kids is a charitable association based in Aalborg, whose aim is to give marginalised and vulnerable families a helping hand. It may be in the form of events and activities for the children in the family, or financial advice and a strong network for the adults, so that they can regain their balance and find the energy to move on to a brighter future.

The Vissing Foundation is providing financial support to set up a new play area in and around Raise for Kids’ new meeting centre, which will open at the beginning of 2025. The play area is designed to give the children a secure space where they can play and develop, while their mothers and/or fathers have peace and quiet to get support from the associations’ social schemes.

“The activities, which include a sandpit, swings and materials for a playhouse, support the children’s physical and mental development. The new play area will give children a break from home life, which is often complex, and an opportunity to form new friendships and social relations,” says Sonja Christensen, chairman of Raise for Kids.
