Rare Together is a community project for young people aged 16 to 25 who live with a rare disease. Many of them miss contact with others of their own age who understand what their life is like, and a community where they can be themselves.
With a series of joint activities, creative processes and conversations, the project provides a setting in which relationships can grow over time. Starting with a peer-to-peer community, the young people meet others who share their experiences of rare diseases. They can give each other inspiration, support and hope.
The aim is to improve the young people’s well-being, strengthen self confidence and create a community that will live on after the project has ended.
“The support of the Vissing Foundation makes it possible to gather young people from all over Denmark, and to create a secure community where no one needs to be isolated,” says Annika Dybdal, from PND Foreningen.
