The Vissing Foundation is supporting ACTIVE TOGETHER, a project in which the Cool East association is collaborating with up to 75 centres in North Jutland and Parasport in North Jutland.
“Our aim is to improve the mental and physical well-being of about 500 different vulnerable children and young people and to combat feelings of isolation and loneliness. We aim to create an inclusive environment when young people from different backgrounds can build up social relationships and join in activities that are both healthy and fun,” explains Peter Lauritsen from Cool East.
“We do it through a wide range of activities, such as creative workshops, sporting challenges and cultural events designed to build up communities and promote personal development.
By introducing the participants to different cultural and social norms, we hope to equip them with important skills for navigating in Danish society, education and training, and the jobs market,” says Peter Lauritsen.
The project is part of the Cool East association’s commitment to create an inclusive environment in Aalborg, and especially Aalborg Øst, which is an underprivileged residential area.
