Christmas Gifts for Vulnerable Children and Young People in Skive

“Christmas support from the Vissing Foundation provides gifts for 160 children and young people (aged 0 to 18) from economically vulnerable families in Skive Municipality. It truly makes a difference,” says Camilla Sevelsted from the organization Bizz Up in Skive.

This is the third year that the Vissing Foundation has supported Bizz Up funding Christmas gifts. Employees from Vikan, which is owned by the Vissing Foundation, also help wrap the gifts and deliver them to children and young people in the Skive area who receive an extra Christmas present.

Bizz Up works with the Health Services, the Family Centre, the After School centre and the Work & Training department in the municipality of Skive, to ensure that the gifts go to those who need them most. The goal for 2024 is to collect enough money for gifts for 600 children or young people. Last year, the organization collected money paying for 503 Christmas gifts.

“Christmas should be a really cozy and joyful time for everyone, especially the children who are eagerly waiting. But it’s not if the family’s finances are so tight that they don’t know how they will afford Christmas gifts. That’s why the support from the Vissing Foundation is so important,” says Camilla Sevelsted, who notes that many families need a helping hand during Christmas.
