Christmas Eve for marginalised families

Raise for Kids is a charitable association based in Aalborg, whose aim is to give marginalised and vulnerable families a helping hand. It may be in the form of events and activities for the children in the family, or financial advice and a strong network for the adults, so that they can see things in perspective and charge up with new energy.

Raise for Kids hosts a big Christmas event for about 130 children and adults, and distributes boxes of Christmas supplies to about 30 families, so they can feel the spirit of Christmas at home as well.

“The Vissing Foundation’s support means we can ensure that even more children enjoy a warm, secure Christmas – and that their families feel a sense of togetherness that they often miss. For many families, Christmas is also the beginning of an extended period in contact with Raise for Kids, during which they have access to a network, counselling, and specific steps towards a more stable daily life,” explains Merete K. Haurum, a volunteer at Raise for Kids.
