An adult who makes a difference

Some young people need an adult who is simply there – and will always be there. Frederikshavn Municipality’s Youth Support Contacts help vulnerable and marginalised young people between the ages of 7 and 23 to establish positive experiences, stronger relationships and new perspectives on daily life. With the support of the Vissing Foundation, the young people can take part in activities that strengthen confidence and provide positive alternatives to criminal and abuse-associated environments.

“Our most important task is to be the positive adult who makes a difference. With the help of the Vissing Foundation we can present the young people with activities that make an impression – positive alternatives to the communities offered by crime and abuse environments.

Shared activities such as creative workshops, exploring nature and outings help to build up confidence and strong relationships. The objective is to improve the young people’s well-being and belief in their own possibilities, and show them that an adult is there for them who will not give up.
